- BrendaBrenda
Hello, I am Brenda (Bren) Tyrrell, Co-Owner and Director of Prime Time Children’s & Youth Activity Center. I worked for PEPCo, in Washington DC for 11 years and was looking for child care for my daughter in Calvert County and could not find the quality I was seeking, I came home countless evenings and voiced my concerns with my husband Ron. He suggested that since I had gone to college to be a Teacher before PEPCo and had experience in Business that I open a child care program and offer the quality that the children deserved. I took that and ran with it, opening our first center in Chesapeake Beach for 43 children and within 5 years built and opened the buildings now known as Prime Time Children’s & Youth Activity Centers. I worked in personnel, drafting and energy conservation with PEPCo and gained experience running an Association for them putting my education in business to work, then with the opening of prime time put my degree in early childhood education to work and followed that with a degree in Day Care Management. I was hired as a Consultant by the Calvert County Board of Education to develop and manage the Judy Center child care program along with prime time and are both a State and National Validator of high quality programs seeking accreditation and a MSDE State Approved trainer. My education and experience has helped me but being a parent has guided me through the entire process of operating a high quality, in fact award winning, state and nationally accredited child care program. The best part of it all is being able to share this with my family, from children, grandchildren, husband, brothers, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, father, mother and even grandmother! Looking back we should have called it ‘A family Affair’ because that is what it has become, and I cherish that. Not only my immediate family which is precious to me, but to the children and their parents that become an intricate part of the ‘prime time family’ as we guide them sharing experiences and memories along the way.
- Brittany A.Brittany A.
My name is Brittany Arthur and I'm an outgoing and creative individual. I am currently enrolled in the College of Southern Maryland to major in secondary education. In the future I hope to become either an art teacher or an art therapist. Art has always been a major part of my life and I hope to help others learn about life through art. Ever since I was a toddler I have always been encouraged to pursue art because of how easily I can portray a thought through pictures. I started working at Prime Time a year ago to help me decide upon if I want to become a teacher and if so what age group would I like to teach. However, my year of working here isn't my first experience with child care. I started at Prime Time when I was a little over a year old and I stayed here until I was 13 years old and a C.I.T (counselor in training). I returned to Prime Time about 5 years later as a teacher's aid and I hope to become a group leader like my mom was (Mrs. Barb) in the near future. My family is very important to me and I have lived in North Beach with my mom, dad, sister and turtles for 18 years now. I love teaching, Disney movies (especially tangled), doctor who, art and coffee.

Hi! My name is Caryn. I was born on May 17th in Prince Frederick, Maryland. I graduated from Calvert High School in 2003. My interest working with children grew in high school when I was apart of a career opportunity class, where I left school early to work in a child care center. In 2004, I started my career at Prime Time and have taken continued education trainings every year to enhance my knowledge in the field. Between my years at Prime Time and my education trainings, I have learned to love the child care field even more. It is truly amazing to have the opportunity to watch children grow every year and impact their lives in a positive way.
Aside from work, I am a mother of two daughters, Caydee and Ranee. When I am not working I like to spend my time with them, shop, watch movies, and make crafts at home with my girls. - RonRon
Hi, I am Ron Tyrrell. I came into this business by listening to my wife and trying to figure out a plan to make her wishes and dreams a reality. With her devotion and my support we were able to open Prime Time by our daughters 3rd birthday and have it ready and going before our son was born. I have supported this business entirely and grown to love and appreciate it. I took the necessary college classes to get certified as a teacher and helped out when ever and where ever needed. I also felt that it was important to know and understand early childhood development to support our business and know the terminology that was being used all around me. I had been an Investigator for 26 years and although gained lots of experience in that capacity, used what I knew to learn all I could about children and the way they think. Today, I piddle in this and that and support and respect my family for the bonds we have made, the friends we have met and the experiences we have had owning this business.
- RyanRyan
Hi, I am Ryan Tyrrell. I was practically born at Prime Time. I am the son of the Owners and am told the reason we have an infant room. When they had me they turned what was the dining room at the ‘old’ prime time into an infant room for 3 children. I grew up here and my sister and I were ginny pigs for all the projects and programs my mom came up with and got to be the first ones to test the slides, toys and playhouses our dad built. Then there was the great family times shared at prime time as my cousins came here, my granddad and great grandmom worked here, my uncles and aunts too over time joined us and it was like a family reunion all the time. I went to college to get my degree in business and then moved onto my degree in early childhood education in hopes to continue my parents legacy at Prime Time someday as I work my way up from Assistant Teacher, Teacher and Group Leader to Assistant Director, to someday when my parents are ready to travel and relax to Director of Prime Time.
